SECRETS ONE- Principles & Practices of InterPlay This retreat/workshop covers the techniques and body wisdom principles of InterPlay. Learn to lead your life in a more embodied, playful way. Reclaim voice, movement, stillness, and stories as primary ways of knowing. Ground yourself in a communal ethic of play to replace stress with health, creativity, joy and purpose. Learn specific ways to deepen the practice of honoring body wisdom in you and in your community. Secrets One of InterPlay, is part of the core curriculum for the InterPlay Life Practice Program (formerly known as the Leadership Program). This workshop is also open to anyone desiring an in-depth introduction to InterPlay. PLUS- Discovering Group Body Wisdom Principles- The "Plus" is interwoven throughout the weekend. So, what makes for strong, sustainable, peaceful, and powerful groups? What are the “secrets” that create health and wholeness for the individuals within families, businesses, communities, churches, social movements? We’ll bring together several community artists with deep wisdom about this subject for an engaging weekend around stories rich with history, as we explore the ways art and activism, creativity and culture are inextricably linked.
By sharing our stories, songs, moving together, and hanging out, we’ll glean some insights into how the global communities of InterPlay are developing, contributing and evolving as a soul-force for a better world. This weekend will be a springboard to the formation of Morningstar Community Arts Collaborative and a new InterPlay Life Practice Program beginning in October.
Tuition: Early registration $225 (after 8/22 add $25) Also “bring a friend new to InterPlay” for an additional $25 off. ALSO: Special price of $150 for those who have done Secrets One and/or the Leadership Program before. Room & Board: Contact us for a range of housing & meal options- homestays, and a special rate at a nearby motel.

Diane is a longtime community organizer, activist and artist who wears lots of hats! Her roles are many but her vision is one: wholeness for all. She has served on the boards & staff of many church and community non-profit organizations, locally, regionally and nationally and has a passion for community-building across lines of race, class and culture. She loves the simplicity and elegance of the InterPlay forms and shares them with other adventurous souls in Nashville and around the world! She has organized over 350 InterPlay gatherings in the last 6 years and is building a strong mutual support network of community artists. She is in the fifth year of teaching the InterPlay Leadership Program. She has recently become the grandmother of twin boys and then another baby girl and enjoys the multicultural nature of her family. Her Moroccan son-in-law and daughter Sara live next door and between them they speak 5 languages. She is interested in supporting the development of InterPlay in more areas, especially in the South. She is available for travel and exchange (body barters!) with other InterPlayers in other communities.
