Morningstar Community Arts Collaborative , UCPL and the Pacha Mamas present--

                       ONE WORLD Community ArtShare
a Monthly Opportunity for Creativity, Connection, Community & CHANGE

at Unity Center for Positive Living, Saundersville Rd, Hermitage, TN  (directions here- Denise)
Sunday, June 29th- 4:00-8:00pm, includes a potluck dinner, performances and an open sharing time

Come and  experience the beauty of celebrating the Spirit through a variety of cultural expressions.  We will sing together, blending our various voices and become part of a glorious, spontaneous choir.  A variety of guest artists will offer singing, performance art, stories, poetry and more.   We might sing a Brazilian samba, make an African celebration dance, find our voices in the harmony of a peace song, or even create our own musical or story invention. No skill required, just a willingness to explore a range of cultural/spiritual traditions with voice, movement and story. A great feast for performers and non-performers alike!

SPECIAL GUEST ARTISTS that are invited for this month's gathering--  the PACHA MAMAS, Ed Haggard and The Love Drums,  AMY BARNES with Hindu LoveSongs to God,  Danny Salazar, Latin rock,  Xiu Hong Feng- Chinese Opera Singer,  Odessa Settles, Gospel/Soul,  Kathy Chiavola, Italian/folk.

Also featuring Thomas Anderson, Diane Ault and family, Krystal Kinnunen and other Nashville folks who are attending the World Sacred Music Festival in Morocco and bringing back a documentary about their adventures in "Waking Hearts, Weaving Peace" on the journey.

A multi-cultural community gathering open to ALL, honoring many spiritual paths. Share your stories, songs & dances and transform your struggles with grace and ease.  We explore the relationships between community art- making and social/spiritual change. UBUNTU is an African principle which means "I AM, because WE are."

Healing and change comes in and through the medicine of the collective, the empowering art-full and ancient forms that connect the generations with the future, and values that are sometimes lost in our overly individualist society. Every month the Pacha Mamas will open and close a time of open-mike sharing of sing-along music, poetry, and simple interactive play forms. A $10 love offering is suggested to support the artists, and a potluck dinner of world foods will be shared.  Come even if you are stressed or tired, to rest and receive the gifts of community, spontaneity and sanctuary. Welcome!

The Pacha Mamas (Universal Mother) is comprised of three unique individuals who work in harmony with each other and spirit to create and express through music, movement and the spoken word.  By opening and extending our hearts in this way, we affirm healing and connection in the world.  We believe that three working as one creates miracles.
Marquetta Dupree has worked for the International Black Youth Summit as a facilitator helping to bring into being their vision for the community and the world. She has trained for 10 years in African Dance and has just finished teaching a year of African Inspired Dance classes. She is a graduate of Interplay’s Leadership program, a path of spontaneously embodying and creating art from life through playing with song, story and dance in solo, partner and group play.  Marquetta spends as much time as she can singing, dancing, and telling stories while practicing the art of living in the “present moment”.

Angela Holley is a graduate of Interplay’s Leadership program as well.  She is creator of the critically acclaimed “Holley’s Country Follies” and  “Wildwood Flowers: The June Carter Musical” (www.thejunecartermusical.com).  Holley is an award-winning actress who has been in show business for over 20 years.  In addition, she owned and operated Cabaret Creations, where she created, produced, and performed a variety of cabaret shows for multiple venues.  Most recently she has begun taking her spiritual life and her own music more seriously composing several “spirit songs” as part of the journey to share with others.

Vivian Slade began her career as a musician, touring the southern and eastern US through early 2000. As a solo guitarist/vocalist, she received excellent reviews and airplay on indie and college radio. Vivian (who currently lives in Nashville, TN with her husband, two daughters and large dog) teaches private voice lessons as well as group sessions on how to use the voice to bring more joy and abundance into one’s life. Vivian continues to perform in Nashville as a jazz vocalist, independent rock/pop artist and children’s theatre actress. Vivian is part of the First UU Church in Nashville and sings in the choir.
