Sister Adora has gone on to Glory. She will be greatly missed. She was one of the first storytellers I knew. I met her in New York in 1989 and had continued to see her and correspond with her. I loved her smile and her warmth. The last two times I saw and talked with her were in 1999 in Winston-Salem, NC at the National Black Storytelling Festival and Conference, where she told Sunday morning stories, and in Durham, NC a year or so ago when she came with a delegation for an arts committee meeting. We have been blessed to have her in our presence and my prayers go out to her family.
