Creative Drama Ages 4 -7 Saturdays 11am -noon Pantomime, movement, improvisation, and story dramatization are the tools for children's exploration. Story Theatre Ages 8 - 13 Saturdays 1pm – 3pm Bring world folktales to life through theatre games and improvisation. Teen Interplay 14 – 17 Tuesdays 4pm – 6pm Improvisational movement and theatre games lead to original theatre pieces performed for the community. All young people are born with creative spirit. Through play and imagination, they create new characters, ideas and stories everyday. In Creative Spirit workshops, they will build on those strengths, transforming creative play into art that moves the body and the heart. Artists, Emily Green-Cain or Adora Dupree, can travel to where you are…with a bag full of drums, rattles and percussion instruments and a few costume pieces they can create magic anywhere! Creative Spirit can tailor a program to meet your needs. Classes in Pantomime, Puppetry, Creative Writing, Shakespeare, Commedia, Teaching Social Studies through Drama, Storytelling and more! Special Programs… Available for church groups, homeschool groups, scout troops or community groups. Interplay! Scout Badge Programs A theatre, music or storytelling activity that leads directly to a badge. Storytelling Performances Adora and Emily tell stories individually or together. Stories of the Civil Rights movement, trickster tales, mountain tales, growing up stories, multicultural tales, Aesop’s Rap and more! Story Workshops and Residencies Adora Dupree, Master storyteller, leads storytelling workshops for ages 9 and up. Also available for workshops in Praise Poetry and Rap. Residencies from 1 - 5 days.
Creative Spirit Artist Emily Green-Cain has an MFA in Theatre Arts and has taught students all over the East Coast since 1980.
